By Enid Hinton

In order to work and achieve the desired goals it is important that one has good health. But in case one falls ill he or she can go to hospital to seek medical attention. When a person falls sick the extent of the illness is determined as a serious case when the person is dependent on medication and cannot do without them. Some illnesses are curable and others are not, in this article we will look at how to treat Lyme disease in human beings.

Lyme is a bacterial disease that is caused by the bite of ticks which are infected. It is most common in dogs and affect humans how live in areas where animals are or they like spending time with the animals.

The signs and symptoms of Lyme in its early stages are rashes and flu. If a person has been infected he or she gets red rashes this is the first sign that occurs and as days go by the rash starts forming in a way that it looks like a bull eye, though the rash is painless. The infected person also gets flu like symptoms like headaches, body aches and fatigue.

Later symptoms are; joint pains- one is likely to feel pains at the joints at different times or at the same time. It can affect the nerve system and if the person affected does not seek medical attention as soon as possible he or she might get brain damages, heart problems, swollen glands, kidney problems and other serious problems caused by the disease.

It is also important to note that Lyme is not contagious. Health providers diagnose the illness when a person has the red rash especially people who live in areas mostly infested by ticks. The antibodies of the infected person may give false results as the antibodies may resist the illness for years so health providers do not take blood test at the early stages of these illnesses.

Treatment of this illness is simply by using antibiotics. Additional medicines may be given to relief pain in the joints and other areas that may be painful. This disease can also be treated naturally without using drugs. The option is of the patient.

People should not be worried about getting the disease from an infected person as it is not contagious. The age group that is likely to be affected is children between the ages of five to fourteen and adults between ages forty to forty nine but this affect people who live in areas that are infested with the ticks.

It is not a must for one to live in an area infested with ticks to get Lyme. A person might get it through rodents or standing unknowingly where the ticks are. To ensure that one does not get the illness it recommended for them to get vaccinated along with their animals and if a person suspects to have the disease they should seek immediate medical attention instead of waiting for it to reach severe stages. Good health is just as important as seeing a new day that is why we need to stay healthy.
