What The Organic Protein Powder Means To Your Health

For athletes and people involved in intensive workout programs, protein is a very important supplement. It provides the fasted way to repair muscles and build new muscles. However, these are not their only use; they also provide several other benefits, including the provision of vitamins and minerals. However, there is a lot when it comes to selecting the right product for you. Choosing the organic protein powder from the non-natural ones should the first task for anyone who wants to use these products.

However, before answering this, it is important to state that protein powder is available in several flavors, with the vanilla, chocolate, peanut butter, and chocolate flavors as the most common. They also occur in three forms; the isolate, the concentrate, and the hydrolysate. While the concentrates have low fat content, they are higher in carbohydrate content. The isolates on the other hands are lowest in fat, and lactose, but highest in protein content. Lastly, hydrolysate why cost more since it is less allergic. It is processed in a way that it is easier to metabolize.

While in the market it may not be easy to identify which one is which and which one in non-natural, there are three labels that might help the buyer to identify the product. When it is labeled 100% organic, this indicates that the product contains no trace of any of the said or other non-natural chemicals.

The second label is "organic" which implies that the product is at least 95% natural. Lastly, if it is indicated as "made with organic ingredients", then this is an indication that the product is 75% to 95% natural. The product should also contain the USDA Organic label to certify that the product is what it claims to be.

In order to compensate for their expensive cost of production, these products are normally more expensive. However, this is a cost that most people will be willing to pay. Clearly, the moment you consider to use any of the supplements, and then it should be the healthiest option available. The non-natural protein products ordinarily cost less, but for those who know what is good for them, they are always willing to pay a little more.

Even with this, these products are said to taste better than the conventional options that sometimes taste bitter due to the excessive amount of fake sugar content. The conventional products also have a chalky taste. The natural varieties do not sacrifice quality as they are rich in vitamins, minerals, and amino-acids.

Other than milk based natural products, there are the raw protein powders that have nothing to do with the cow. The products are plant based and are thus free of dairy products, sugars, gluten, soy, and vegan. They are easier to ingest. They are not heat or processed thus preserves most of the protein. They can however be sweetened with stevia or other natural sweeteners, but not the artificial ones.

The other common varieties are those that are hemp based, brown rice based, vegan (peas, rice, hemp, quinoa and more varieties), and several others. All those are either plant or animal products. As such, it pays to carefully read and select those that are natural as they have more health benefits. The good variety of powder also taste better and are easier to ingest.
